An auction held in Tampa, Florida by the Dallas-based Heritage Auctions saw the sale of the extremely rare 1894-S dime struck at San Francisco Mint. Prized by collectors for its rarity, only 24 of these coins were known to have been minted, out of which only 9 survive today. The auctioned coin realized a whopping $2 million and is one of the rarest coins of the century.
